Artist's Description

"PETROGLYPH 1" by James Barber

An example of the rock art, also known as a petroglyph, at the Three Rivers Petroglyph site in the Chihuahua Desert of New Mexico. There are over 21,000 documented petroglyphs on roughly 50 acres, including images of animals. fish, insects, humans, and birds. The art was created between 900 to 1400 AD by Jornada Mogollon people who used stone tools to remove the dark patina of the rock.
