Description
"COSSATOT RIVER REFLECTIONS" by James Barber
An early morning at the Cossatot River State Park found the water smooth and mirror-like. The sun-lit tree-covered hill provided the colors on the surface of the river. Found in the Ouachita Region of Arkansas, this section of the river is famous for its whitewater canoeing and kayaking when water levels are higher. Cossatot, when translated from the native American language, means "skull crusher", and many a whitewater enthusiast will affirm the accuracy of the name.
