Description
CIVIL WAR ARTILLERY IN BLACK AND WHITE" by James Barber
In this black and white photograph, twelve pound Napoleon cannons stand ready in the Pea Ridge National Battle Park in northwest Arkansas. This battle occurred March 6-8, 1862 and was one of the few battles of the Civil War where Confederate forces outnumbered their Union opponents. The Confederate forces were driven from the field on the second day thus giving control of northern Arkansas and Missouri to the Union.
